Andover Massachusetts is located in Essex County located 23.6 miles north of Boston.  Andover is at the junction of 93 and 495.  Other major routes through Andover are route 133, 28 and 125.

It is bordered on the north by Methuen and Lawrence, on the west by North Andover and Boxford, to the southeast by Middleton, to the west Tewksbury with Wilmington and North Reading to the South.

Andover was established in 1646 as part of a much larger area encompassing North Andover and South Lawrence.   As a way to encourage settlement residents were given a three year immunity on taxes.

Andover was an early manufacturing town going all the way back to 1775 and thru the early 1900.  You can still see remnant of its early roots in manufacturing.  While now, mostly a residential community it still hosts many large and small corporations.

CGI, Phizer and Phillips home care are just some of Andover’s largest employers.

Lastly, Andover is known world wide as housing one of the countries most pestigious and oldest private schools, Phillips Academy.
