The summer in the Merrimack Valley and North Shore area is a great place to live. It provides great access to the best activities that the greater Boston area, Maine and New Hampshire have to offer.
There are always tons of activities around Boston to plug into like the recent arrival of the tall ships or Shakespeare in the Park. Don’t forget some great museums, including the Boston Aquarium, Boston Science Museum, Museum of fine arts and more, including others outside of Boston, including the Franklin Park Zoo, Stone Zoo and the Textile Museum.

Whether you are looking for an Irish pu or a fine eatery the greater Boston area will satisfy. Visit Newburyport MA or Portsmouth MA to make a day of it. Visit these great seacoast towns and finish your day with a great restaurant.
Neburyport MA or Portsmouth NH are great places to visit. There are outdoor plays, concerts, and other events going on all the time, as well as shopping ad much more!! Both towns are just a short ride from anywhere in the northeast Massachusetts area.
Don’t forget about Lowell Massachusetts with tons of cultural events, festivals and more. Check out some of the amazing events in Lowell including the popular Lowell Folk Festival. Lowell is not to be overlooked when it comes to summer events.
Is camping your thing? You have tons of camping available whether along the seacoast in Hampton beach NH, Lake Winnepeseakee or the White Mountains in New Hampshire, Lake Sebago in Maine or Acadia National Park in Maine. Some great camping can be minutes away to a couple of hours away if camping is your cup of tea.
Boating is another activity you can plug into even if you don’t own a boat. Join Freedom Boat Club out of Newburyport to access several different types of boats. Enjoy kayaking on the Concord River with a kayak or canoe rental. Take a charter cruise out of many of the coastal towns north of Boston, whether its a dinner cruise, a music cruise or a whale watch.
There are tons of beaches north of Boston to enjoy those warm summer days. Some of the more popular are Hampton Beach in Hampton NH, Cranes Beach in Ipswich, Plum Island Newpuryport MA, Salisbury Beach in Salisbury MA, Ogunquit Beach in Ogunquit Maine. Stop by and see a comedy show or a concert in Hampton or Salisbury after an afternoon of the beach.
