I decided to head up to Gloucester MA this past Sunday. The first real snow of the year had subsided and was hoping to get some pictures of any storm surge along the coast. I swung by the Eastern Point House Lighthouse. Unfortunately the waves were breaking over the breakwater so I wasn’t able to get any of the light house. The breakwater helps protect the Gloucester harbor and all the fishing vessels at dock. Then I headed up the coast on Atlantice Drive from Gloucester to Rockport and got some great photos of the Atlantic Ocean and the surge from the storm.
Of course any photographic series of Gloucester must start with the Fishermen’ Memorial, The Man at the Wheel.
The first photograph was taken from the breakwater at East Point Lighthouse.
The next five photos were taken on a little stretch of beach at the start of Atlantic Ave, headed north towards Rockport. I love hitting the beach after a storm and seeing the awesome power of the sea.
